Uralmekhanobr-Engineering is a department of  the Ural Scientific Research and Design Institute for Minerals Dressing and Machining "Uralmekhanobr", founded in 1929 for the design of mining enterprises for extraction and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, raw materials for the production of building materials, etc. Along with the development of technology and the design of new industries, Uralmekhanobr-Engineering performs design work on reconstruction, expansion and technological upgrading of existing production facilities for enrichment and machining of minerals.

In 1991 on the basis of three enterprises: JSC NPO Center, ZAO Ural-Omega, and ZAO Scientific and Production Design Center Uralmechanobr-Engineering, the Ural-Center Scientific and Production Association was established.

Since 2022, NPO Center has been actively developing the promising direction of the ASEAN countries. Relations were established and a dealer agreement was signed with the leading supplier of dry mix solutions in India - Readymix Construction Machinery Pty. Ltd. The first result of the joint activity was the delivery of the newest centrifugal impact crusher with a built-in system of dedusting of the finished product to produce high quality artificial sands of 0.075 - 1.2mm fraction for a customer from Pune, Maharashtra. 

JSC NPO Center is a member of the Scientific and Production Alliance "Sphere". The purpose of the alliance is inter-company integration and business development. The main goals are: 1 - Unification of independent enterprises for realization of scientific and production projects, preserving independence and individuality; 2 - Ensuring production of competitive products through synergistic growth. 

JSC NPO Center together with other participants of the alliance contributed to the production of the power amplifier module of the UFL-2M unit.
