Cyclones are designed to trap the suspended particles from gases.

Their wide spreading is largely explained by the fact that they have a lot of benefits – simplicity in arrangement, service reliability at rather small capital and operation costs. Among other factors, the reliability is conditioned by the absence of complex machinery in their construction.   

Depending on the requirements placed upon the cleaning of gases, properties of particles and their size-consist, the cyclones can be used both as the independent devices and as the units of the first and the second purification stages in combination with the other gas cleaning devices.as capacity of the cyclones can be from several hundred cubic meters per hour to hundreds of thousands. They can be applied both as single ones and as gang cyclones (by 2, 4, 6, 8 elements).

The cyclones are equipped with the system of pneumatic shaking of the material in the bins so that to discharge them completely and to prevent against caking of the material. Besides, they are furnished with the bin-filling level detectors.

The cyclones have many modifications as regards the capacity of the bins and the embodiment.

The cyclones can be customized either from drawings or according to the customer’s requirements.

Cyclones are intended to trap from gases the suspended particles, moisture-free dust which can occur in different milling and crushing units as well as at the transportation of non-coherent material and fly ash.

Merits of cyclones:

- simplicity in arrangement,

- operational reliability,

- low capital and operational costs,

- reliability,

- the absence of complex machinery in the cyclone construction,

- the availability of pneumatic shaking system of the material,

- the installation of bin-filling level detectors.

Gas capacity of the cyclones can be from several hundred cubic meters per hour to hundreds of thousands. They can be applied both as single ones and as gang cyclones (by 2, 4, 6, 8 elements).

The operation principle of the simplest cyclone is as follows: a flow of dust-laden gas is admitted into the apparatus through the inlet branch pipe tangentially in the top part.Циклон.jpg

The swirling flow of gas is formed in the apparatus and it is downward-directed to the cone part of the apparatus. Because of the inertial force (centrifugal force) dust particles are taken out of the flow and settle on the walls of the apparatus.


Then they are picked up by the secondary flow and arrive at the bottom part through the discharge port into the dust-collecting hopper. Then the dust-free gas flow is moving from bottom to top and is removed from the cyclone through the coaxial exhauster.
